Ancestral Papyrus by Zara, launched in 2021 and crafted by perfumer Jo Malone, is an ozonic woody fragrance that captures the essence of a desert landscape. The composition opens with a vibrant burst of grapefruit, followed by the fresh green notes of violet leaves, before settling into the earthy warmth of papyrus. This scent evokes the transition from dawn to twilight in the vast expanse of the desert, where every moment is infused with the stunning presence of this beautiful aroma.
One or two sprays are enough — the grapefruit top note is bright and brief but gives way to the deeper woody and leather notes that last throughout the day. This fragrance works best in cooler temperatures, where its earthy warmth feels most comforting.
