Loc Dong is a perfumer born in 1972 in Vietnam, who took his first steps in the world of scent among the medicinal plants and herbs of his herbalist grandfather before leaving the country alone at eleven.
In the United States, a chance encounter with a perfumer redirected him from a dream of medicine toward training in Holzminden, with Dominique Ropion, Sophia Grojsman, and Carlos Benaïm among his mentors. He began his perfumery career at Haarmann & Reimer in 1992, created the first Marc Jacobs perfume in 2001, and rejoined Symrise's creative team in New York and Paris in 2023, drawing on his roots, travels, and everyday encounters.
