The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2021 by Rabanne, Phantom is a Woody Aromatic fragrance created by perfumers Anne Flipo, Dominique Ropion, Juliette Karagueuzoglou, and Loc Dong. Billed as the brand's most 'ground-breaking' launch to usher in a new era for the house, Phantom pairs lavender, vanilla, lemon, and patchouli into an unconventional blend that has drawn polarized reviews. Some praise it as surprisingly wearable despite its odd note combination, while others remain unconvinced. The composition opens with bright citrus and lavender, giving way to earthy notes and smoke before settling into a warm base of vanilla and woody accords.
Apply two sprays to your pulse points for an even distribution. The citrus and lavender opening notes are bright but short-lived, so the earthy and woody base will be more noticeable as the day progresses. It pairs well with cooler evenings when its warmth can shine through.
