The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2022 by Rabanne and crafted by Anne Flipo, Dominique Ropion, Juliette Karagueuzoglou, and Loc Dong, Phantom Legion is a complex composition that balances earthy aromatics with smoky depth. The fragrance opens with the bright freshness of lemon zest and lavender, quickly giving way to an intriguing blend of patchouli and vetiver. The heart introduces notes of apple and earthiness, adding a subtle sweetness that contrasts well with the more rugged undertones. As it settles into its base, vanilla provides warmth, while smoke and patchouli create a lingering smoky effect, making Phantom Legion both familiar and enigmatic.
Apply this fragrance in moderation — two sprays are sufficient to capture its full complexity. The smoky base notes take an hour to fully bloom, so give it time before reapplying if you want a more pronounced effect. It reads best close to skin rather than across the room.
