Our Story

William Henry Penhaligon arrived in London from Cornwall in the 1860s, established himself as Court Barber and Perfumer to Queen Victoria, and created fragrances that captured a very specific English sensibility: eccentric, well-read, and quietly confident. The house remains fiercely independent in its creative direction, with recent collections built around Victorian character archetypes and ancient trade routes.
