Who Wears It
The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2014 by Penhaligon's, Lothair is a woody aromatic fragrance created by Bertrand Duchaufour. The composition opens with a vibrant blend of juniper and cardamom, which are soon joined by the freshness of bergamot and grapefruit. As it develops, fig leaf and red berries add depth to the green and citrus elements before lavender and black tea bring a soothing warmth. In the base, woody notes like cedar and ambergris mingle with musk and oakmoss to create an earthy, spicy finish.
Apply Lothair in light layers — the top notes are vibrant but short-lived. The base develops over an hour or so, making it ideal for daytime wear when you want a fragrance that evolves with your surroundings.
