The story behind the bottle.
Babylon, launched by Penhaligon's in 2019 and crafted by Christophe Raynaud, is a fragrance that evokes the warmth of ancient spice markets. It opens with the fresh spiciness of nutmeg and saffron before transitioning into a heart of coriander and cypriol oil or nagarmotha. The base notes of vanilla, sandalwood, and cedar create a rich blend of earthy and woody warmth, making it a unisex scent that feels both lasting and modern.
Apply this fragrance to pulse points for a slow reveal — the fresh spicy notes will greet you initially before giving way to the rich vanilla and woody base. It pairs well with cooler weather but can be worn year-round due to its balanced warmth.
