The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2023 by Amouage, Jubilation 40 Man is a Woody Chypre fragrance crafted by perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour. The composition opens with fresh and fruity notes of blackberry and black currant, complemented by the aromatic freshness of rosemary and davana. As it evolves, warm spices like cinnamon and cloves mingle with rich woody accords of agarwood (oud), patchouli, and cedar, creating a complex blend that is both comforting and invigorating. The base notes of opoponax, myrrh, and ambergris add depth and warmth, reminiscent of the luxurious ingredients traditionally used in Middle Eastern perfumery.
One to two sprays will suffice as the fragrance builds gradually on the skin. The fruity and aromatic top notes are fleeting but set the stage for the long-lasting woody and spicy base. Best suited for daytime wear when it can evolve naturally throughout the day.
