Launched in 2013 by Atelier Cologne and crafted by perfumer Jérôme Epinette, Patchouli Riviera is a fresh spicy aromatic fragrance that marries the earthy richness of patchouli with vibrant citrus notes. The opening acts as a burst of Florida grapefruit and star anise before settling into the heart where iris flower and geranium add depth. The base is anchored by Indonesian patchouli leaf, Haitian vetiver, and Siam benzoin, creating a warm and earthy finish. This composition is emblematic of Atelier Cologne’s signature style — rich, characterful colognes that merge citrus and herbal notes for a lasting effect.
Apply this fragrance in layers for the best effect. Start with one light spritz to let the citrus and spice notes open up before adding another layer an hour later. This allows each note to develop fully and ensures that the earthy base comes through without overpowering the top notes.
