Who Wears It
The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2022 by Boy Smells, Hinoki Fantome is a unisex fragrance that balances the fresh spiciness of its top notes with the earthy warmth of its base. The scent opens with an aromatic freshness that hints at something herbal and crisp before transitioning into a woody core. At the heart of this composition lies hinoki, a Japanese cypress known for its distinctive aroma, which is complemented by undertones of tobacco, adding a subtle smokiness to the overall profile. This blend results in a scent that feels both modern and rooted in natural elements.
This fragrance is best applied in a single generous spray to ensure that both its top and base notes are fully experienced. The tobacco undertones develop slowly over time, so it’s worth waiting an hour or two before reapplying if you want the full depth of the scent.
