The story behind the bottle.
Jean-Pierre Bethouart launched Touch for Men by Burberry in 2000, creating a fragrance that quickly became iconic and influential within the category of men's luxury fragrances. This composition opens with fresh spicy notes like violet leaf and artemisia, giving way to an ozonic and aquatic heart that reads as clean and crisp. The base layers of cedar, nutmeg, white musk, tonka bean, and vetiver provide a warm, powdery foundation. Touch for Men was awarded the Fragrance Foundation's 'Fragrance of the Year – Men's Luxury' in 2001 and is often cited as having set the template for modern fragrances like Dior Homme and Sauvage Parfum.
One spray to the pulse points is sufficient — the ozonic opening notes are bright but short-lived. The warm base notes will continue to develop over several hours, making it ideal for daytime wear.

From chemistry to Caron's Parfum SacréJean-Pierre Béthouart is a French perfumer born in Picardy who studied chemistry before discovering perfumery, beginning his career at Givaudan in 1981 and working there until 1987, after which he became a senior perfumer at Firmenich.
