Launched in 1990 by Calvin Klein and created by perfumer Carlos Benaïm, Eternity For Men was designed to capture the essence of a clean, soapy aromatic fougere. The fragrance opens with bright citrus notes like lemon and bergamot, supported by lavender and sage, before transitioning into a heart of jasmine, orange blossom, and lily-of-the-valley. The base features warm woods like sandalwood and vetiver, anchored by musk and amber for an enduring finish. This composition helped define the clean aromatic style of early-1990s American designer masculines and is often cited as a benchmark 'clean' scent from that period.
Eternity For Men has a bright opening that fades within an hour, so layering is key. Two sprays to the wrists and neck will ensure the warm woods and musk base notes shine through as the day progresses. This fragrance reads better close to skin rather than across a room.
