Who Wears It
The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 1970 by Chanel, N°19 was created by Henri Robert, who succeeded Ernest Beaux as the house's perfumer. This fragrance is a landmark of the green chypre genre, praised for balancing sharp galbanum with refined floral elegance. The composition opens with crisp notes of galbanum and bergamot, leading to a heart of iris, rose, and jasmine, before settling into a base of oakmoss, vetiver, leather, and musk. N°19 is celebrated for its distinctive blend that marries the freshness of nature with the sophistication of classic Chanel.
Apply this fragrance with two sprays to the pulse points. The sharp top notes fade within an hour, but the elegant floral and earthy base notes linger for several hours, making it ideal for daytime wear.
