The story behind the bottle.
Archives 69 by Etat Libre d'Orange is a daring Oriental Spicy fragrance that was launched in 2011. Created by perfumer Christine Nagel, this composition opens with the bright heat of pink pepper and paprika, setting an immediate tone of warmth and complexity. The heart notes introduce mandarin orange and plum, adding layers of sweetness and fruitiness before settling into a base of incense, orchid, camphor, benzoin, musk, and patchouli that reads as smoky and balsamic.
Etat Libre d'Orange is known for its unconventional approach to perfumery, and Archives 69 embodies this spirit with its unexpected blend of spicy, fruity, and woody notes. This fragrance is a proof of the brand's philosophy of pushing boundaries in scent creation.
Archives 69 has a strong projection that lingers close to skin. A single spray in the morning can carry you into the night as it gradually transitions from its spicy top notes to its balsamic base. Apply lightly at first and build up as needed, especially if you prefer a more subtle presence.
