The story behind the bottle.
Frederic Malle launched Uncut Gem in 2022, crafted by perfumer Maurice Roucel. This fragrance is a Woody Floral Musk for men that opens with the fresh spicy notes of ginger and nutmeg, balanced by citrusy bergamot and mandarin orange. The heart introduces angelica and magnolia, adding a floral warmth to the composition. As it settles into its base, vetiver and cedar offer earthy depth, while musk and amber provide a warm, powdery finish.
Uncut Gem is a study in contrasts: the sharpness of ginger and nutmeg gives way to the softness of magnolia and angelica, before grounding itself with woody and musky notes. It's a fragrance that feels both fresh and lasting, much like its namesake gemstone.
