The story behind the bottle.
Christine Nagel's Barénia Intense by Hermès, launched in 2025, is a modern interpretation of the classic chypre style. This composition balances elegance and sensuality with its soft butterfly lily and deep oakwood notes, complemented by leathery undertones reminiscent of Barénia leather and the intensity of patchouli absolute. The fragrance creates a mysterious feminine character that is both refined and sensual.
Given its long-lasting nature and strong sillage, one generous spray is enough to ensure it lingers throughout the day. The patchouli and leathery notes project well, making this a fragrance that reads best close to skin rather than across a room.
