The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2005 by Hugo Boss and crafted by perfumer Ursula Wandel, Boss Soul is a bold interpretation of the Oriental Spicy genre. The fragrance opens with a vibrant interplay between cardamom, pepper, anise, mandarin orange, and bergamot, creating a fresh yet spicy aroma that sets the stage for its more complex heart notes. Lavender, cinnamon, nutmeg, and coriander add depth and warmth, while vanilla, tonka bean, amber, vetiver, and musk anchor the composition with a rich, sensual base.
Boss Soul projects well with its strong spicy notes, so one or two sprays are sufficient. It’s best to apply it in the morning for full-day wear; the base notes will gradually unfold throughout the day, providing a rich and warm scent.

Ursula Wandel
From photography to Hugo WomanUrsula Wandel discovered perfumery through curiosity and a background in chemistry, initially drawn to photography before enrolling at the Givaudan perfumery school in Geneva, where she spent her first year learning around 3,000 raw materials and her second imitating well-known perfumes like a painter studying the old masters.
