L'Eau d'Issey Shades of Kolam, launched in 2020 by Issey Miyake and created by perfumer Marie Salamagne, is a Floral Fruity fragrance that captures the essence of delicate balance. The composition opens with the brightness of grapefruit and freesia, creating an immediate sense of freshness. This lightness then gives way to the warm complexity of jasmine sambac and may rose, underscored by the savory notes of cardamom and basmati rice. Ambergris and cedar provide a grounding warmth, ensuring that the fragrance remains engaging throughout the day.
Apply this fragrance in light layers; the grapefruit top notes dissipate quickly but leave behind a lingering floral heart. The warm base notes develop slowly, so it's best to let them build gradually over time.
