Nuit d'Issey Polaris, launched in 2020 and crafted by Dominique Ropion, is an intriguing blend of fresh spicy and woody notes that evoke a sense of nocturnal exploration. The fragrance opens with the crispness of cypress and black pepper, followed by bergamot, creating a sharp and invigorating top layer. As it settles, agarwood (oud) and patchouli lend depth and warmth to the composition, while cedar adds a subtle earthiness. Vanilla and amber provide a sweet yet smoky base, enhanced by leather and labdanum for an animalic touch that grounds the scent in mystery.
Apply this fragrance in light layers as it can be quite potent. The top notes are bright but fade quickly, while the base notes develop slowly over time. This scent reads better close to skin than across a room, making it perfect for intimate settings or evening wear.
