The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2015 by Jean Paul Gaultier and crafted by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, Le Male Pirate Edition is a bold aromatic fougère that marries freshness with warmth. The composition opens with mint, lavender, and cardamom, creating an invigorating green and spicy atmosphere. This freshness gives way to the heart notes of artemisia, bergamot, cinnamon, orange blossom, and caraway, which bring a complex layer of herbal and floral nuances. The base notes of tonka bean, vanilla, amber, sandalwood, and cedar offer a rich, woody warmth that anchors the fragrance with its earthy depth.
Le Male Pirate Edition has a strong top note presence that fades within an hour. To ensure the base notes are more prominent throughout the day, apply it in layers or use it sparingly on pulse points. This fragrance reads best close to skin rather than projecting widely.
