Launched in 2009 by Jo Malone London, Vanilla & Anise is a Floral Fruity Gourmand fragrance for women and men. Created by perfumer Céline Barel, this composition opens with star anise and fennel, providing a warm and slightly spicy contrast to the bright citrus notes of neroli and bergamot. At its heart, vanilla blends seamlessly with white florals like frangipani, orchid, tuberose, and jasmine, creating a rich and enveloping aroma. The base notes of tonka bean, vetiver, and amber add depth and warmth, ensuring that the fragrance lingers on the skin with a powdery finish.
Vanilla & Anise has a distinct spiciness that can be quite powerful initially. Apply one or two sprays and let it sit for a few minutes before heading out — this allows the base notes of vanilla and amber to come through and balance the sharpness of the anise. It's best worn in cooler weather when its warmth feels most inviting.
