The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 1993 by Jean Paul Gaultier, Classique is an Oriental Floral scent that quickly became synonymous with both the designer's bold vision and its iconic corset-shaped bottle. Designed to resemble a corset, much like those seen on Madonna during her Blond Ambition tour, the flacon itself has become one of the most recognized in perfumery. The fragrance opens with a bright burst of citrus from mandarin orange and bergamot, which gives way to a heart of white floral notes such as orange blossom, rose, and ylang-ylang. These are complemented by soft spicy accords like star anise and ginger, leading into a warm base of vanilla, amber, and musk that reads as cozy and inviting.
Apply Classique to pulse points for an intimate warmth that builds throughout the day. The citrus top notes are bright but fleeting, so focus on layering the scent close to skin where it can linger longer. This fragrance reads best as a personal cloud rather than filling a room.
