Launched in 1862 by Hugo Lambert for Oriza L. Legrand, Violettes du Czar is a fragrance that marries the delicate and the earthy with striking precision. The composition begins with violet leaves and iris, introducing an ozonic freshness that feels almost aquatic in its clarity. This crisp opening gives way to a heart of rich violets, which are balanced by the subtle green notes of guaiac wood and the powdery warmth of amber. The base notes of Russian leather add an animalic depth, creating a scent that is both regal and intimate.
Apply Violettes du Czar with two sprays to the pulse points. The ozonic top notes dissipate within an hour but make way for the rich heart and base notes that last throughout the day. Best worn in cooler weather when its warmth complements the chill.
