Launched in 2019 by Orto Parisi, Megamare is a fragrance that defies expectations. Created by Alessandro Gualtieri, it blends marine and musky accords with a fresh, aromatic profile that reads as both unexpected and captivating. The scent opens with bright citrus notes of bergamot and lemon, which give way to the aquatic heart featuring seaweed and calone, creating an intriguing tension. The base layers of hedione, musk, ambroxan, and cedar provide warmth and depth, grounding the composition in a powdery comfort.
Megamare has become one of the most widely imitated scents in current dupe culture, a proof of its distinctive appeal and commercial success. It played a pivotal role in putting Orto Parisi on the niche-fragrance map after Gualtieri's departure from Nasomatto.
Apply one or two sprays for a balanced experience — the bright citrus opening is fleeting but makes way for a longer-lasting aquatic warmth. This fragrance reads better close to skin than across a room, so aim for pulse points rather than spraying liberally.
