The story behind the bottle.
Mouche by Rochas was launched in 1947 and is a creation of the renowned perfumer Edmond Roudnitska. This fragrance opens with bright citrus notes like lemon and bergamot, which are quickly enveloped by the lush sweetness of peach, apricot, and plum. The heart blends florals such as narcissus, rose, jasmine, and carnation with a touch of honey and heliotrope, creating an intricate blend that is both delicate and rich. As it develops, warm spices like cloves and opoponax mingle with balsamic resins and mossy accords, leading to a deep base of leather, musk, ambergris, and vanilla. The result is a scent that feels lasting — a perfect blend of old-world elegance and modern sophistication.
Mouche is best applied to pulse points for a subtle yet lasting effect. The citrus top notes are bright but fleeting, so allow it to settle into its heart and base notes before heading out. This fragrance reads best close to skin rather than projecting strongly across the room.
