The story behind the bottle.

Scentsation editorial

Launched in 2022, Poivre Noir by Serge Lutens is a fragrance that balances the sharpness of fresh spices with the warmth and depth of woody accords. Created by perfumer Christopher Sheldrake, this composition opens with an invigorating blast of aromatic spiciness that gradually gives way to a powdery, woody base. The interplay between these elements creates a scent that feels both contemporary and lasting.

How to wear it

Poivre Noir projects best with an initial strong spritz; its aromatic spiciness fades within two hours but leaves behind a warm, powdery trail. It pairs well with layers for those transitional days when the weather is unpredictable.
