The story behind the bottle.
Nishiki by Shiseido was launched in 1973 and has since become a proof of the brand's legacy of blending tradition with modernity. This Floral Green fragrance opens with bright citrus notes like bergamot and aldehydes, giving way to a lush heart of white florals such as lily-of-the-valley, jasmine, and lilac. The earthy base notes of vetiver, sandalwood, and musk ground the composition, creating an elegant balance between freshness and warmth.
Nishiki's citrus opening is bright but fleeting, so layering it with the powdery florals ensures longevity. The earthy base notes develop slowly, so allow it to settle for an hour before heading out. This fragrance reads best close to skin rather than across a room.
