The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2014 by Valentino and crafted by perfumer Olivier Polge, Valentino Uomo is distinguished by its distinctive blend of leather, chocolate, and roasted coffee — an accord that sets it apart in the competitive men's leather/gourmand category. The composition opens with a bright bergamot and myrtle before transitioning into hazelnut, chocolate, and roasted coffee beans. A warm base of leather and cedar anchors the scent, creating a rich and complex olfactory experience. This fragrance has garnered significant attention, particularly for its pre-2021 formula (black cap) which enthusiasts often prefer over the newer gold-cap version.
This fragrance has a strong base that develops gradually. Apply two sprays to ensure the chocolate and roasted coffee notes are prominent without overpowering the subtle leather undertones. It pairs well for daytime wear but can also hold its own in more formal evening settings.
