Who Wears It
The story behind the bottle.
Rouge Velours by Yves Saint Laurent, launched in 2021 and crafted by Carlos Benaïm, is a Chypre Floral fragrance that balances vibrant florals with earthy undertones. The composition opens with white tea and pink pepper, offering an initial burst of freshness that quickly gives way to the heart notes of rose, jasmine, and iris. These floral accords are enveloped in a base of patchouli, vetiver, and musk, creating a rich blend of warmth and depth.
Apply Rouge Velours to pulse points, as it tends to bloom closer to the skin. The floral notes are most pronounced in the first hour, but the musky base will linger for hours, making it ideal for evening wear.
