The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2021 by Zoologist Perfumes and crafted by Mackenzie Reilly, Macaque Fuji Apple Edition is a Woody Oriental fragrance that captures the essence of an unexpected encounter. The composition opens with a bright, crisp apple note, which contrasts beautifully with warm spices like olibanum and juniper berries. As it evolves, hinoki wood and sandalwood ground the scent in earthy tones, while myrrh and labdanum add a rich, amber warmth that lingers long after initial application.
This fragrance develops best with time — apply it to pulse points and let it settle for at least half an hour before stepping out. The crisp top notes are fleeting, but they set up the warm, woody base that lasts through the day.
