The story behind the bottle.
Chrome Under the Pole by Azzaro was launched in 2018 and embodies a composition that oscillates between freshness and warmth. The fragrance opens with Calabrian bergamot and lemon, creating an aromatic citrus burst that feels invigoratingly crisp. This is balanced by notes of rosemary and coriander, which add a fresh spicy edge. As the scent settles, cyclamen and jasmine introduce a soft floral touch, while oakmoss, sandalwood, and cedar offer a woody depth that feels both grounding and slightly powdery. The base notes of tonka bean, Brazilian rosewood, musk, and cardamom bring warmth and sweetness, creating an intimate aura that lingers.
Given its intimate sillage and moderate longevity, Chrome Under the Pole is best applied in two light sprays. The citrus opening fades quickly after an hour, so it’s important to let the powdery woods settle into place for a more lasting effect. This fragrance reads better close to skin than across a room, making it ideal for daytime wear.
