Launched in 2007 by By Kilian, Love Don't Be Shy is an Oriental Vanilla fragrance crafted by Calice Becker. This scent opens with a vibrant blend of citrus and spicy notes — bergamot and pink pepper — before transitioning into a heart of sweet orange blossom, honeysuckle, jasmine, and marshmallow that reads as a gourmand indulgence. The base notes of vanilla, caramel, musk, and civet ground the composition in warmth and sensuality.
Love Don't Be Shy is widely recognized for its marshmallow-orange-blossom accord, which has legitimized sweet gourmand fragrances within niche perfumery circles that once dismissed overtly sweet compositions. Its cult status was further liftd when it reportedly became Rihanna's signature scent.
