Launched in 2020 and crafted by perfumer Frank Voelkl, Roses on Ice by By Kilian is a composition that juxtaposes freshness with warmth. The scent opens with an invigorating blend of cucumber, juniper berries, and lime, creating a sharp and refreshing aura. This gives way to the heart notes of violet leaf and pink pepper, adding a subtle spiciness and greenness. At its core, Roses on Ice centers around a cool rose that feels like petals kissed by frost, supported by woody accords of sandalwood, ambroxan, and cedar, which ground the fragrance with earthy warmth.
Apply Roses on Ice sparingly to allow its nuanced layers to unfold gradually. The ozonic and aquatic top notes fade within an hour but leave room for the rose and woody base notes to shine through the day. This fragrance is best experienced close to skin rather than in a large space.
