The story behind the bottle.
Narcisse Noir (1911) by Caron, created by Ernest Daltroff, is an Oriental Floral fragrance that embodies the elegance and innovation of early 20th-century French perfumery. The composition opens with a bright citrus note from African Orange Flower and orange, followed by the warmth of jasmine and tincture of rose, which create a lush floral heart. The woody base notes of sandalwood, musk, and vetiver add depth and earthiness to the fragrance, grounding its sweet and aromatic elements.
Two sprays to each wrist is sufficient — the citrus top notes are vibrant but fleeting. The fragrance develops best close to the skin, so avoid heavy application if you prefer it subtle. It's ideal for cooler weather when the woody base notes can fully unfold.
