Launched in 1998 by Dior and crafted by Annick Menardo, Hypnotic Poison is credited as a genre-defining gourmand oriental that broke from the floral/fresh norms of late-1990s perfumery. The fragrance centers around a signature accord of bitter almond, jasmine, and vanilla, creating an 'edible' sensuality that has made it a cult classic in fragrance communities. Its rich, powdery warmth is underpinned by woody notes like sandalwood and musk, while the top notes of coconut and plum add a fruity depth.
Apply two sprays to pulse points for the best longevity. The fragrance's opening notes fade quickly, but the rich base notes like sandalwood and musk will last throughout the day. Best suited for evenings or cooler weather when its warmth can be fully appreciated.
