The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 1992 by Giorgio Armani and created by perfumer Francoise Caron, Gio is a unisex fragrance that marries the freshness of citrus with the warmth of spices and woody notes. The composition opens with Sicilian mandarin and bergamot, providing a bright, crisp entry before transitioning into a heart of jasmine, tuberose, and gardenia, which create a lush floral bouquet. This floral core is then enveloped by a base of amber, sandalwood, and musk, resulting in an aroma that feels both intimate and expansive.
Apply two sprays to your pulse points; the citrus top notes will brighten initially but give way to the rich floral heart after about an hour. This fragrance is best suited for daytime wear, as its warmth enhances the comfort of a casual lunch or a meeting.
