The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 1959 by Givenchy, Monsieur de Givenchy is a composition that captures the essence of French elegance and sophistication. Perfumer Francis Fabron crafted this unisex fragrance with a bright citrus-aromatic opening, featuring lemon and lemon verbena, which gives way to warm spicy notes like cinnamon and pepper. The heart adds a touch of floral complexity with carnation and lavender, while the base is anchored by woody and mossy accords of sandalwood and oakmoss, rounded out with musk. This fragrance was one of the first from Givenchy's perfume line, setting the standard for their distinctive blend of French chic and American glamour.
Apply this fragrance to pulse points and let it develop over time. The citrus opening is vibrant but fades within two hours; focus on the heart and base notes which bloom gradually throughout the day.
