The story behind the bottle.

Scentsation editorial

Givenchy III was launched in 1970, and it quickly became a defining scent of the era, blending aldehydic freshness with green earthiness and woody warmth. Created by Jean François Latty and Raymond Chaillan, this fragrance opens with galbanum and aldehydes, creating an immediate sense of crispness and sophistication. The heart notes of gardenia, jasmine, and lily-of-the-valley add a floral sweetness that is both lush and refined. At its base, vetiver, oakmoss, and sandalwood ground the composition in earthy richness without overpowering the lighter top notes.

How to wear it

Givenchy III blooms best when applied to pulse points and left to develop naturally. The aldehydic top notes are vibrant but fleeting, so a second application after the first hour can help maintain its presence throughout the day.
