The story behind the bottle.
Givenchy built Un Air d'Escapade around a contradiction that works: a French house whose reputation rests on structured elegance — 1952, the clean lines of a Hepburn wardrobe — reaching for litchi and water notes. Mandarin orange snaps bright and almost effervescent at the top, while the water accord keeps the whole thing cool and faintly saline rather than cloying. It is the olfactory equivalent of a day-trip to somewhere sunnier.
Beneath that tropical-citrus surface, peony, rose, and lily build a white-floral heart that reads as dewy, not powdery, and a musk-cedar base gives it just enough structure to outlast the first hour. The name translates as 'a breath of escapade' — a lark, a brief departure — and the composition earns it. It smells like you've stepped somewhere warmer for an afternoon without packing a bag.
The litchi and water notes do their brightest work in the first twenty minutes, so spray on pulse points and let the top do its thing before you judge the whole thing. After that, the peony-musk-cedar base takes over and holds for a moderate stretch — two sprays at the wrists and one at the chest will carry it through a full day without a reapplication.
