L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Sport, launched in 2012 by Issey Miyake and crafted by perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, is a Woody Aromatic fragrance that marries the freshness of citrus with the warmth of wood and leather. The composition opens with grapefruit and bergamot, providing an immediate burst of crispness and brightness. This freshness gives way to nutmeg and leather notes in the heart, creating a subtle tension between the aromatic top and the woody base. Vetiver, Virginia cedar, and ambergris anchor the fragrance, offering a warm and earthy finish that is both grounding and slightly animalic.
Apply this fragrance two to three times for optimal effect — the bright top notes fade quickly but the base notes develop slowly over several hours. It's best worn during cooler parts of the day when its warmth can be fully appreciated without becoming overpowering.
