The story behind the bottle.

Scentsation editorial

Classique La Robe Chinoise by Jean Paul Gaultier was launched in 2001 and embodies the designer's signature blend of elegance and playfulness. The composition opens with a vibrant citrus note from mandarin orange, balanced by the sweetness of pear and plum. This freshness gives way to a heart of floral notes — orange blossom, rose, orchid, ylang-ylang, and iris — that create an intricate blend of soft florals and white florals. The base layers of vanilla, amber, and musk add warmth and depth, resulting in a fragrance that is both comforting and sophisticated.

How to wear it

One or two sprays are sufficient to capture the essence of this fragrance. The mandarin orange and pear notes are bright but short-lived, so it’s best applied right before stepping out for the day. The base notes of vanilla and amber emerge after an hour and provide a warm presence throughout the day.
