The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2023 and created by perfumer Quentin Bisch, Gaultier Divine is a striking blend of sweet, aquatic, and powdery notes that capture the essence of Jean Paul Gaultier's irreverent spirit. The fragrance opens with Calypsone and bergamot, leading into a heart of red berries, lily, ylang-ylang, and jasmine. The base includes meringue, musk, and patchouli, creating a warm, creamy dry-down that is both comforting and unexpected. Fronted by actress Yara Shahidi in its ad campaign, Gaultier Divine continues the brand's signature torso-shaped bottle design with a gold conical-bra corset motif. Reception has been polarized: while some praise its warm, creamy finish, others find it oddly tart or sour on skin.
Apply two sprays to your pulse points. The meringue note is particularly distinctive and can read as slightly tart on skin initially, but it mellows into a warm, creamy base after an hour. Best for daytime or early evening when its aquatic-sweet tension shines brightest.
