Launched in 1974, Balafre Vert by Lancôme is a Woody Chypre fragrance that captures the essence of French elegance and sophistication. The composition opens with bright green notes and bergamot, creating an immediate sense of freshness and vitality. As it evolves, the scent reveals layers of cypress, pine tree, and fern, which add an earthy and mossy depth. Vetiver and leather anchor the base, providing a warm and slightly smoky finish that lingers on the skin.
Balafre Vert projects best when applied to pulse points and allowed an hour to settle. The green and aromatic top notes are fleeting, so the smoky leather base comes through more prominently after some time. It’s ideal for cooler weather or indoor settings where its warmth can be fully appreciated.
