Jean-Claude Astier crafted Night Aoud by M. Micallef in 2003 as a bold statement within the oriental floral genre — a fragrance that balances rich woods and spices with a touch of freshness. The composition opens with the bright, sweet notes of ylang-ylang and peach, before transitioning into a heart of nutmeg and citruses, which adds a fresh spicy tension to the mix. The base layers in agarwood (oud), sandalwood, patchouli, amber, vanilla, cedar, and labdanum, creating an intense warmth that feels both modern and lasting.
Night Aoud is best applied with two sprays to ensure that its complex layers unfold fully. The fragrance settles into your skin over an hour, so plan accordingly. It's particularly effective in cooler evenings when the warm spicy base notes are most pronounced.
