The story behind the bottle.
Flying by Maison Martin Margiela is a composition that captures the essence of escape and adventure. Launched in 2016, it was created by perfumer Marie Salamagne to evoke the thrill of taking flight. The fragrance opens with bright citrus notes like bergamot and petitgrain, which mingle seamlessly with ozonic freshness, creating an airy, uplifting effect. At its heart, flying blossoms into a delicate mix of orange blossom and ylang-ylang, while the base of musk and moss adds depth and warmth. This fragrance is designed to feel both light and grounded, as if you're soaring above the earth but still connected to it.
Apply Flying with two to three sprays for optimal effect — the ozonic notes are bright but fleeting, so they need a bit more initial presence. The musk base develops slowly over time, ensuring that the fragrance remains warm and inviting throughout the day.
