Xian by Ormonde Jayne, launched in 2020 and crafted by perfumer Céline Ripert, is a fragrance that balances fresh spicy notes with warm woody accords. The composition opens with black pepper and nutmeg, creating an initial burst of energy and freshness. This lively top note gives way to the earthy warmth of cedar and sandalwood, grounded further by musky undertones and the subtle sweetness of rhubarb. Xian is neither overly sweet nor aggressively spicy; instead, it finds a harmonious middle ground that feels both contemporary and lasting.
Apply Xian with two sprays for optimal longevity. The spicy top notes fade within an hour, but the musky base notes remain close to skin throughout the day, providing a lasting warmth.
