The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2015 by Prada, Marienbad is a complex Oriental Woody fragrance crafted by Daniela Andrier. It opens with a bright burst of bergamot, followed by the lush sweetness of plum and rose, creating an intriguing contrast that sets the stage for its deeper notes. The base is richly layered with amber, leather, vanilla, incense, civet, tolu balsam, labdanum, orris, patchouli, and agarwood (oud), weaving a blend that is both warm and smoky. This fragrance embodies Prada's commitment to unexpected and potent creations, evoking the cinematic experience of a partially remembered dream.
Marienbad's rich base notes take time to bloom fully, so applying it as a light mist on skin rather than in the air allows the deeper layers to unfold gradually. It’s best reserved for evenings or special occasions when you have time to let its complex accords develop.
