The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2010 by Robert Piguet, Calypso is a fragrance that weaves together the warmth of rose and iris with earthy undertones of patchouli and leather. Perfumer Aurélien Guichard has crafted an Oriental Floral scent that opens with the brightness of mandarin orange and geranium before transitioning into a heart of Bulgarian rose and orris root, grounded by suede and daim notes. This composition is both fresh and spicy, creating an intriguing tension between its powdery floral elements and earthy base.
Calypso’s top notes are vibrant but fleeting, so aim for a slightly heavier application at first. The heart of rose and orris root will emerge after about an hour, making this fragrance ideal for evening wear as it deepens into its earthy base notes.
