The story behind the bottle.
Five O'Clock Au Gingembre, launched by Serge Lutens in 2008 and crafted by perfumer Christopher Sheldrake, is an Oriental Spicy fragrance that weaves together a warm blend of spices and woods. The composition opens with the bright freshness of bergamot and tea, quickly giving way to the spicy heat of cinnamon and candied ginger. This contrast creates a dynamic tension that evolves into a rich base of honey, amber, cacao, and patchouli. It is neither overly sweet nor overpowering, striking a balance between warmth and complexity.
Apply this fragrance in light layers — it develops its full depth over time. The spicy notes are most noticeable initially but give way to a rich, warm base that lingers throughout the evening.
