The story behind the bottle.
La Fille de Berlin by Serge Lutens was launched in 2013 and has since captured the attention of fragrance enthusiasts, often compared to Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle's Portrait of a Lady for its 'dark, jammy rose' character. Created by perfumer Christopher Sheldrake, this Oriental Floral composition opens with a fresh spicy accord that gives way to a heart of rose and geranium, anchored by the warmth of honey and moss. The patchouli adds an earthy depth, creating a complex blend that reads as both floral and slightly gothic. This fragrance stands out for its ability to balance sweetness with spiciness, making it a modern classic.
This fragrance blooms gradually, so a light first application is recommended. The honey and moss base develops slowly over time, making it ideal for layering or reapplying throughout the day. It reads best close to the skin, where its nuances can be fully appreciated.
